Back to the City

Our last day in paradise was much the same as our first: perfectly relaxing. A delicious breakfast with a view, time by the pool, a walk along the beach and another massage.

We enjoyed a Thai pancake for lunch, reminiscent of a thin crepe, mine with peanut butter and banana. It was deliciously sweet, sticky, cut into small squares and eaten with great difficulty with chopsticks.

We were taken once again by golf cart, boat, tuk-tuk, and van back to the airport. (The tractor was not needed due to the changing tides.) As we left the peninsula, the clouds darkened and the rain began to fall, my thought was because the land was showing us it would miss us as much as we would miss it.

Don't get me wrong, we are excited to see more of this part of the world, but our stay on Railay was absolutely perfect, and I believe we could have stayed there for weeks.

After a short plane flight, we arrived in the enormous, sprawling city of Bangkok, whose metropolitan area is home to 14 million people. Tammie lives just north of the city, just off a busy street, but behind a gate that seemed to open up to a quiet, clean, green street, with a beautiful, spacious home. We are thankful to have a guide in this busy city!
