Scotland

Last year, I had the opportunity of going to Scotland on multiple occasions. I absolutely loved it: the accents, the scenery, the people, it was all grand!

Today, I got a little piece of Scotland in northern Washington. We went to a Highlands Games Festival in Mt. Vernon. The other girls had been to some of THE Highlands games in the Highlands of Scotland, but I did not know what to expect, even though I know what they saw was nothing compared to what we saw today, but still, we had a great time!

There were tents for each of the clans, foods like meat pies and sausage rolls, Scottish dancing, bagpipes, sheep dog herding, kilts, Mary Queen of Scots, impressive athletic events and much more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the sun, full of fond memories of our time in the UK.

On our way to Wenatchee, where we are spending the next few days with Stephanie's parents, we stopped by a farmers' market known for their ice cream. We soon learned why when we ordered these "regular" scoops in homemade waffle cones:

Our Scottish day wouldn't have been complete without seeing a few Highland coos, and after a bit of searching, we did find some of these precious hairy cows!
